Tavistock Company of Archers is supported by Sport England and the National Lottery.

Tavistock Company of Archers (TCA) has a long and illustrious history as a member of the Grand Western Archery Society and Devon and Cornwall Archery Society. In the 1960’s the club was dissolved and all records and trophies were handed back to the UK governing body the Grand National Archery Society.

In the early 1980’s the club was re-established by a group of enthusiastic archers keen to have a target and field club in Tavistock. The club prospered over the next forty years and grew to a membership of over 80 archers and trained in excess of 2,000 beginners to the sport. Many of the members took part in local and national competitions with a high degree of success.

At the beginning of 2023, an all-new club committee embarked upon an ambitious programme of renewal and regeneration of the club and its direction. Starting with a clear statement of our new Vision “To be a prosperous and sustainable club enjoyed by an enthusiastic and diverse membership” and defined objectives aiming to engage our catchment community, improve the diversity of our membership and to offer the opportunity for stimulating, sporting activity that can be both challenging and fun.

Tavistock Company of Archers is a family orientated club, affiliated to the NFAS (National Field Archery Society). The club has an active and enthusiastic membership, with age, ability or disability being no barrier in the participation of this engrossing sport! Club meetings are relaxed and sociable, but with safety in mind at all times.

The Club actively encourages competition with many members competing in both Field Archery and Target Archery. During the Summer months, on weekday evenings (provided that at least two members are present,  And ALL year round on Sunday Mornings, the Club uses the sports field of  Hazledon House, Parkwood Road, Tavistock, (Former Kelly College Prep School).

During the winter months we provide indoor shooting at The Climbing Barn in Milton Abbot on Thursdays 7-9:30pm
